Aberdeen City Council today unveiled their latest weapon in the war against dog poo: a rapping pooch called Scoop the Dog.
Not to be confused with LA rapper Snoop Dogg, the local authority's canine crusader raps exclusively about picking up dog mess in a bid to clean up the city's streets.
Pupils at Broomhill Primary were treated to an appearance by Scoop on Tuesday, where he extolled the virtues of cleaning up after their pets.
Backed up by City Wardens and staff from the City Council’s environmental health department, Scoop laid down some tasty beats before urging kids to "Scoop it up, Scoop it up".
The underlying message was a serious one: that children should take care in and around animals and tidy up dog mess.
The rap was written by one of the senior City Wardens, and was put to music and sung by Portlethen Academy pupils.
But it was delivered with a hint of cheek, as the youngsters were offered the chance to join in the Scoop Song.
And the enthusiasm at the end showed they thought this lesson was mutterly brilliant.
