It was a meal designed to test the stamina of even the hungriest customer.
Yet when the Flaming Grill in Aberdeen came up with the Trash Can Challenge - a 4,000-calorie slab of chicken skewers, burgers and ribs, which were served on a bin lid - it sparked plenty of interest.
The health risks don't seem to matter to some of the city's hungry Homer Simpsons.
The bigger the portion, the meatier the incentive, and especially when there is money at stake.
That helps explain why the Flaming Grill is now laying down the gauntlet to Aberdonians to come up with a new calorie-gorged dish which they will create at their restaurant.
And they are offering £500 to the winner.
It doesn't have to be a main course, either.
It could be the Superman of soup, or the King Kong of desserts. But it certainly isn't for those who like to chew a bit of celery for their lunch.
The overall winner will receive £500 and see their creation come to life on the pub chain's menus across Britain.
The restaurant has made it clear the new dish has to be something genuinely new.
As a spokesperson said: "Got a mad idea for a new Flaming Challenge? We want to hear it.
"We’re on the hunt for your most outrageous, far-out, incredible suggestions to help inspire our next Challenge dish – no idea is too out there for our judges."
So what will win the day? How far dare you go?
