A dramatic display of thunder and lightning lit up the north-east skies last night after as soaring temperatures hit the UK.
Many parts of the country experienced the spectacular light show as bolts of lightning and claps of thunder struck Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and right here in Aberdeen.
The Met Office said that over the last 34 hours, more than 15,000 lightning bolts struck Scotland during the storm.
While some slept through the stormy weather, many left their beds, armed with cameras to capture the stunning display that lit up the night sky.
