It's a resplendent venue at the heart of Aberdeen and anybody who ever visits His Majesty's Theatre will surely be enchanted by this artistic marvel.
As the nights start to draw in, the public is being offered the chance to sample behind-the-scenes tours of Aberdeen’s Edwardian gem.
The Saturday morning 90-minute tours, which lift the curtain on the inside story of the history and day-to-day workings of the historic theatre, will be held throughout September, October and November.
Numbers are limited to 20 people per tour, on a first-come-first-served basis.
Under the guidance of enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers, visitors can explore His Majesty’s modern £7.8m extension as well as the original building, designed by the legendary theatre architect Frank Matcham more than 100 years ago.
The tour includes a chance to get onstage and witness a performers-eye view of one of the most beautiful theatres in Britain.
Then it’s backstage for a glimpse of the inner workings of a busy theatre and the opportunity to pick up some inside knowledge of its spooky past.
Tickets for the public tours costs £5 (£3 concession) and can be booked through Aberdeen Box Office online here.
Free tours for schools and community groups can be organised, according to availability and scheduling.
The public tours take place on September 12, 19 and 26, October 3, 17 and 31 and November 7 and 14.
