An unsuspecting mum was left on Cloud 9 after touching down at Glasgow Airport to a surprise family proposal.
Husband-to-be Scott Forbes, 42, planned an elaborate proposal for partner Julie Butler, 40, catching her off guard when she stepped off a flight to Glasgow from Las Vegas.
The whole family from Aberdeen gathered to meet Julie on Monday, with a bouquet of roses, customised T-shirts and a ring which would cement a devoted nine-year relationship.
Not to mention Scott had Julie's favourite curry waiting in the car.
Julie had travelled to the states with an old school friend to celebrate their 40th birthdays.
Little did she know the festivities would continue just moments after touchdown.
Walking through the airport gates, she was greeted by Scott, her 12-year-old son Brendan, the couples' three foster children, two nephews and Julie's mum, all witness to the beautiful moment when Julie said "yes".
"I had absolutely no idea about it," said Julie. "I thought they were there just to surprise me, then everyone started clapping. I thought there might have been a pop star behind me.
"Then I started to read their T-shirts. Scott got down on one knee and said 'Julie, will you marry me?' and of course I said yes."
"Life was just so busy"
The couple met a few years after Julie's family suffered a great loss in 2003, when Brendan's twin Luke passed away at the age of one.
After meeting Scott, professional dancer Julie found a new calling as a foster parent - the couple have since raised a family in Aberdeen, where Scott works offshore as an engineer.
Julie added: "We hadn't spoken about getting married before, I just didn't see it coming.
"We've been really happy together, life was just so busy we never really got around to it.
"I guess we'll have to start saving hard for the wedding."
